How much is my SMB worth?
There is no honest number without documented preparation. A counterparty rebuilds EBITDA, penalizes gaps, and sets the multiple. Before that, measure sellability: score, prioritized gaps, and normalized P&L. The defensible range arrives as consequence, not as starting point.
Why is «how much is it worth?» not the first question?
It is the most searched question — and the least useful without context. A fund, incoming partner, or bank does not pay a multiple on tax earnings or a round number from conversation. They rebuild EBITDA, penalize gaps, and set the multiple after. If you start with price, you negotiate blind.
The metric before price is sellability: the metric before price: score, gaps, and documentation before the table.
What does a counterparty review before the multiple?
In Mexican SMBs with stable EBITDA, the dominant method remains multiple × normalized EBITDA — but only after normalizing owner compensation, concentration, owner dependency, and documentation quality. Those gaps move the multiple before you talk price.
- Normalized EBITDA — not from tax statements or a generic calculator.
- Concentration and owner dependency — compress the multiple even when revenue looks healthy.
- Tax and labor posture in Mexico — contingencies that surface in due diligence.
The full preparation framework is in preparation to sell.
Is an online calculator enough?
No. Calculators ask for few inputs and return a quick number — without your real statements, without normalizing owner compensation, and without prioritizing gaps. Fine for initial curiosity; does not replace a preparation receipt with your numbers.
Compare five paths — status quo, calculator, consulting, broker, and Diagnostic — in comparison before you choose how to prepare.
Where do market bands come from?
Conversation multiples in Mexico vary by sector, size, recurrence, and information quality. They are market reference — not your price. Your applied multiple depends on gaps a counterparty discounts in due diligence.
For multiple bands in the Mexican market, see EBITDA multiple at Capital En Orden (editorial reference). Vestcrest methodology at /methodology.
How do you get a defensible range?
First measure sellability: 0–100 score, prioritized gaps, and normalized P&L with your real data. The reconciled range follows as a consequence when your preparation supports it — not as an invented starting point. You can see the structure in the demo-data example before using your numbers.

How do I measure sellability in my numbers?
The Vestcrest Diagnostic ($497 USD) applies evaluator-side methodology in a ~30-minute questionnaire: score, up to five prioritized gaps, normalized P&L, and range as a consequence when your preparation supports it. Buy online, no sales calls. If your report does not identify specific prioritized gaps from your data, we redo the analysis at no cost.
