Why does documentation matter before the table?
An institutional counterparty, fund, incoming partner, or bank, discounts the multiple when information is informal or inconsistent. Document quality is one of five Vestcrest sellability score dimensions and one of the most common gaps in Mexican SMBs.
What are the levels?
Informal (no accountant, scattered records) → basic (external accountant, no audit) → organized (consistent statements, key contracts) → due diligence ready (prepared data room). Each step raises your score and reduces negotiation friction.
What can you do in 30–90 days?
Consolidate 3 years of statements with an accountant, archive contracts with main customers, document owner compensation, and separate personal expenses. The Diagnostic tells you your level today and whether documentation is a priority gap.
Does the Diagnostic replace a data room?
No. It tells you whether you are ready to open one. If your documentation score is low, close that gap before due diligence or step up to Strategy for a concrete action plan.
